    Morning,
    Editing
Really nice concept and nice AO to work in as infantry. We/I haven't played much of Taviana but it certainly seems to lend itself to mechanized having quite a bit of open ground and some nice towns and features to go through.
Good simple opord and map details to work with, briefing explained and questions answered.
I'm seeing improvement in this op of @Blu. ambitious campaign and that cool to see, this op flowed much better than last week from an infantry perspective and while there is still room for balance i.e. blu understanding how powerful GOL can be at combined arms he's moving in the right direction. This isn't about setting up more objectives though as last nights AO was more than adequate, its about loading the objectives with more but cleverly. If for instance you had filled the initial town across the bridge to the brim with AI we would probably of struggled to get over the bridge or got bogged down in messy CQB while trying to protect PIG. This is about balancing the timings of AI influx and sustaining a prolonged battle, its challenging because its dependent on circumstance more than AO layout. Turn out is a big factor, 17 players last night! Taking this into account i think your op held up well, good effort! GG @Blu.
My advice! look at other peoples ops, poke editors and find out how they do things, learn, steal the best bits and make out like you knew what you were doing!
    Execution
Enjoyable in Alpha last night. @Pilgrim took the reigns and threw us into the fold nicely, good crack getting over the mined bridge with pig supporting. nice job @Luke, bounding, set! nice reactionary firefights to be had throughout each objective, times that by 3 please and add a few HMG positions to keep us busy and new pants would have been required. @Nag didn't need any help, he slotted straight into his team and did his job, really impressive stuff, very good cohesion and reactions like a whippet!
One thing I noticed in general last night, possibly a gap for improvement is calling out or advising on how long you think your order will take. Quite a few times I hear actual asking for an ETA. Something for anyone finding themselves leading a team, try and provide an ETA when the order is given, this allows actual to plan better and allows you as TL to set his expectations. I see a lot of orders given and teams wanting to complete those orders as quickly as possible, obviously certain circumstance need immediate reaction but those that don't TL's should be assessing approaches more rather than putting teams in possibly exposed positions. speed vs safety! (i wont remember I've written this in about 2 days!)
Apologies to @Pilgrim for not checking you personally when calling you as a T4, i will take that one on the chin, my bad.
Pig was impressive last night @Chroma is a becoming quite the vehicle commander, he takes no chances and hits hard as well as protecting the infantry as best as possible, very cool stuff PIG! I wish you'd leave something in our wake but i cant complain at good team work!
GG all thanks for the game.

    Training:
First off, and once again, massive thanks to @PARKER for setting up this training scenario.
The initial course was not quite as well received by the crews we actually put through it, but I believe that it did just what we wanted it to do. Drop people in the deep end, challenge their micro management, highlight problems.
@Skeliton took a significant part in researching some of the theory we talked about and how to get it across to members attending.
Our live fire exercise was relatively successful. This is our bread and butter when we work with IFVs - strike and recover. From my perspective the recover bit could have been a little smoother with quicker reactions. Worth pointing out though that both crews disagreed with me on that bit and seemed happy with their performance.
Overall, there wasn't quite as much discussion and participation by the crews as I'd have liked. Still this was an enjoyable session from my point and I hope we could drill some of our standards a little bit.
Commander communication skills are very difficult to teach. If you have any ideas on how to go about that please let us know.
    8/10

    Mission:
Nostalgia. With its sheer simplicity, selection of terrain and objectives, it took old dogs like @Pilgrim and myself back to 2014. A low number of contacts was balanced with chunky AI settings. Good awareness, accuracy and placement made the enemy quite challenging overall.
I went for a relaxed, slow approach. The advantage of this were excellent atmospherics within the squad. We found once again that Arma can be a highly relaxing, immersive experience in the right setting, with the right people. Unfortunately, discipline got out of hand a little by the end with people seeming pretty tired.
I enjoyed cooperating with @Chroma's Bravo team. The relationship between the two teams was equally relaxed, yet effective. This made leadership pretty enjoyable considering that there were too few of us for a detached squad leader.
Since the op is pretty extensive, an MHQ vehicle with good transport capacity would be a nice addition, even though it's built as a foot patrol. This would allow us to turn back quickly at any point and RTB, which I believe is part of the objectives.
    9/10

A beautifully executed plan, with minimal casualties.
I’m proud of you guys and, damnit, I’m proud of myself.
...is the official story, and I’m sticking to it.
Well. Attendance was abject, and options limited, so I decided it was best to ease off a bit and let teams do their thing. As we had only done this mission recently, I decided to do everything differently just for the hell of it with no sound tactical reasoning whatsoever.
It worked. We died a shit load of times and got to see the other mission objectives.
I’d really like to see this played with three teams and aircorps.
Last night will not count towards your final exam.

They still haven't revealed what it is but im assuming its is to do with the east wind thing. Theyve been dropping hints about climate change, climate policies and the US spending billions of dollars on it. (Maybe the US has developed the device?)
The aliens thing has been in the game for years and people have made mods out of it.
    Dayz is dead.
The game is too futuristic and outward thinking to be nukes and i dont see what content they could pull from it.

Would like to play some other stuff team based outside of Arma and saw Squad was recently updated and is similar to the things we already do on arma but with a lot more people. Would be cool if we got 4 to 8 people together.
For those who dont know squad is made by the guys who developed project reality for Battlefield where you can get servers with up to 80 players.
It is similar to how we run in arma with several fireteams with local chat and team radios and the team lead can communicate via another channel to other teams just like TFAR.
Since ive played it last Mechanized and armoured vehicles are implemented so if theres only afew of us we could still run as that.
Let me know if anyone is interested and maybe next weekend or something we can give it a go

I’m working on a video to help editors better understand how to place air defense systems so that it’s a little more difficult for me (or anyone with a similar jet skill set) to kill everything in the opening minutes. But before that I thought it would be a good idea to record a rough “Banshee Ridealong” video for any editors who do not fly jets but want to have a better idea of what a Banshee pilot does. Although I don’t state it in the video, what makes a Banshee jet so lethal is its speed and maneuverability when combined with a pilot who knows how to put them to good use.
The mission I'm playing was thrown together in less than 5 minutes. I didn’t spend much time placing the units but this was enough to repel my approaches into the airspace several times. It wasn’t enough to stop me but I was slowed down significantly compared to a normal Saturday op. I do have some ideas on how to make AI air defense much more effective, beyond just better placement, but that’ll have to wait until I learn to do some basic scripting.
Hopefully the video is informative and if you have any questions feel free to ask. The video on placing units will come in the next week.

    Operation Cut-Throat
An undisclosed billionaire recently purchased the farthest island SE of the Tanoan archipelago along with several communications between international arms dealers. Satellite footage has shown much activity around the ports and airstrip which has US government officials backs up. A section of the US navy in the area have been redirected to observe from offshore and intercept shipments heading to the island. Since their arrival only supplies and food have been found entering, until last night when a small fishing trawler managed to get through without being checked. Any attempts at peaceful landing on the shores and investigating have been met with threats saying that the island is private property outside the US and any other nations jurisdiction. Since our last communication more PMCs have arrived making us think they have something to hide.
In the early hours of this morning we are to send out a squad to infiltrate the docks and find the Red container that the fishing boat was holding. If we are to find any evidence that concerns the higher ups further orders will be issued.

The waters around Tanoa are claimed to be owned by CSAT forces which have been harassing us with air contacts. Our naval batteries have set up a castle around the carrier and the Blue circle marked shows the "safe space" of the effectiveness of our naval AA. This also means that we cannot safely use our own aircraft without risk.

We will be starting on the carrier to the East of the island. We will rappel between to small yellow flags off the side down to boats.
MHQ is the large gun boat, we will use RHIBs to do initial insert. Move SLOWLY through sewer area as its likely the PMCs have anticipated it as a weak point and have  afew guards stationed inside

    Tasking
    1. Find Entrance to sewer system, Use suppressors until daylight
    2. Locate container in dock area that passed through customs undetected
3.Follow up any leads found and/or await tasking from HQ
