      ARMA 3 Sync Update   07/14/2018

ARMA 3 Mods Updated! This update restructures our mod package, previously the mods would get added to either GOLIslandsA3 or GOLAddonsA3 and this resulted in a fairly large mod folder. Before downloading this update it is recommended that you delete your current mods first because A3S doesn't always clean up the old mods. To do this you simply need to head to the location that you downloaded the mods to for example: \Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3 and delete all of the folders that start with @ The benefits of the new structure include: Being able to see what mods we are/aren't running To give you the option of disabling addons that you don't want to run To have the option of adding mods that some may like to run for example: Blastcore To have the option of downloading the mods outside of the GOL Repository for example: Steam workshop or directly from armaholic To have the option of creating campaign specific mod pack presets so users can select the mod set preset and only the mods required for the campaign will be loaded - this will mean better performance. This can be set on the server side so that the preset is made available to everyone for everyone to select.

An example of this is that we are playing as the Russians against middle-east rebels. Only the mods required for this would need to be loaded and this can be determined by a mod preset - are present there is only one mod preset which is called "ARMA 3 GOL Mod Pack". Another preset can be added called "Battle for the Falklands" for example and then only the mods for this campaign will be loaded. Obviously by only loading the mods for this campaign would mean better load times and performance.

Keep in mind that as a mission maker that if you save your mission while all of the mods are running then some mods will added themselves as required mods in the mission.sqm meaning that if you try to load the mission again later it will fail because it believes that the required mod is missing. When making the missions only do so with the required mods - if you do mess up then there is the option of opening the mission.sqm in notepad or some other editor and removing the mods from the required mods selection. The download size can be reduced if you choose to manually move the mod files but if you don't have much experience with the mods then please just delete the existing mods and download the mods fresh. Any problems then post a message in the technical support thread and myself and others who can will be happy to help   Download size:  35.44GB

  1. Shame I was working! Always like me a good ambush
  2. Interesting to see what Alpha got up too in that op!
  3. Hey Guys, Just some screenshots from today's Training
  4. Posted in video topic also, but seeing as it relates to this mission i'll drop it in here as well
  5. Short Montage of the Sunday Operation, mission by @ThecMaster. Misshit F9 about halfway through so only managed to record two objectives, still wanted to make use of what I got! Enjoy.
  6. @PARKER don’t worry twitch teams ARE a thing! that’s how I would go about setting it up, with having us all in one GOL team. The stream including all of our individual perspectives would probably work with having a pc with all of our streams up in individual windows, that simply switches scenes between each of us for 25 seconds or 30 seconds or so on a rotation. Sound would be supplied via whatever perspective is live at that moment
  7. Just another note @PARKER. I have set my twitch channel up so that whenever @Lt.Chris is streaming, my channel will host his stream, so just rebroadcasting it from my channel. This should hopefully help with viewership. If you are thinking of using twitch instead of YouTube I’d be more than happy to host your streams too.
  8. I will do, I’ll add it when I get home from work tomorrow morning. Its always good to have some form of house style or uniform when it comes to design, that’s why I tried to follow the colour scheme of the website with the blues. It would be interesting to have some form of single stream that can switch between all of our individual streams, and if anyone has a back up pc that would be entirely possible using OBS. Let me know what you think! In the meantime, if you or anyone else wants some overlays/images creating feel free to ask!
  9. Hi All! Boring lectures = Switch off and do something completely unrelated to what's being taught, so I decided to make a simple stream pack for GOL. The overlay's are basic and leave room for adding in any other information, and also don't take up too much real estate on the stream. There are also some Offline/Stream Starting Soon screens in there too. Simple stuff, just did it to pass a couple of hours but they may come in useful to someone if you want to use them while streaming the operations. These images are custom to my preferences with my logo but everything is editable within the .psd, in which all of the different overlays and images are housed. If you would like a download link for the entire stream pack, please visit my website and click the download button above the slideshow (it's only 5mb, just the .psd file) Also, if you guys don't have Photoshop/Don't know how to use it, let me know if you want anything editing for you and I can do that! You can view the stream pack here on my website - VIEW STREAM PACK
  10. Hi Guys! Joined in with today's training and operation, the first actual in-game experience I've had with the Clan. I must say I enjoyed it a hell of a lot, even if I spent a lot of time binding keys and confused! I'm sure that'll change with time. Overall I really enjoyed the op, the large scale was really nice, always adds to the immersion I feel when you have to do a bit of traveling either on foot or in a vehicle. Big thanks to Pilgrim for putting up with me, he really helped me in getting to know the different techniques and language. Thanks to you all for the great experience! Unfortunately Saturday's are my main working day (Bar job 5pm-5am ) so unless I have a later start one weekend or a weekend off I don't think I'll be able to frequent those ops alot, however Thursdays and Sundays are definitely going to be a frequent thing for me, so I'll try and show my face then!
