This in house mod is designed to repair the problems presented by CUP vehicles and also expand the usefulness of the aircraft in general.

I'm very chuffed to say that despite my recent HDD meltdown, the CUP patch is finished and ready for use!

 

OP updated to show full log of changes. There are probably still some small bugs or tweaks so if anyone finds something please let me know

I'll be working my way through all the CUP vehicles again, adding new toys and fixing any new errors (CH-53 VIV sinks into the ground on AFM for example). Any requests please let me know. So far I've got:

Investigate possibility of transporting applicable sea vehicles inside the CH-53 (Zodiac and maybe SDV)

Investigate using towing scripts to create SPIE rigs

Investigate expanding SPIE rig into CSAR winch

Does anyone have any info on how, if possible, you can operate the AH-64 in CUP?

As I work my way through the latest CUP incarnation, I find myself coming back to the AH-64. For whatever reason, best known to themselves, CUP obviously think that the AH-64 is functioning as intended. In my testing however, on both flight models, the tail rotor is destroyed when starting the engine.

Has anybody managed to get this thing airborne without copping out and making it invincible? If not it looks like the Apache won't be coming out of retirement any time soon.

Mod has been almost completely rebuilt to make maintenance easier. Check out the github for upcoming projects and bug tracking.

If anyone finds a bug or has a suggestion/request then either head over to the github page and create an issue or PM me here on the forum.

Anyone interested in helping out gimme a yell and I'll figure out how to add you as a contributor.

Added GBU-24 Enhanced Paveway systems to relevant aircraft (check the field manual):

  •     GBU-24A = Standard 2000lb bomb with enhanced glide capability
  •     GBU-24B = 2000lb bomb with penetration fuzing and enhanced glide range

I just have to ask
Is there a reason why you decided to copy all configs of the CUP vehicles and change minor things, I mean it just made things more complicated, not only for you that have to go though all configs but also mission makers have to select the correct once, instead of just using the already existing once and changing/adding the required configs with the inheritance system.
Also none of your vehicles support CBA's eventhandlers

The only event handlers involved are from AWS and link to the weapon guidance scripting from AWS so I used the system that already works.

I had an all in one config to begin with but it got stupidly big and awkward. Furthermore when CUP changed one model reference it borked the entire mod rather than one specific vehicle. This way any changes to CUP will only kill one vehicle rather than the entire thing.

You'll find them neatly gathered in an "AAC" faction for each side. They're filed according to their applicable callsign.

To clarify,  I am not talking about making a mod the individual vehicles, I am talking about copying everything from A to Z of the original vehicle and then just replacing and adding a few lines, there is no benefit of this, actually only loses.
CUP adds in vehicle Alpha, with settings A,B & C
Since Alpha vehicle is missing D
What you have done is Added vehicle Bravo with the properties of A,B,C and then your own D
Easier way of doing this is adding directly to vehicle Alpha setting D

Example of this would be the AK12 I changed, instead of only firing 762.39 it also supports 545.39 for balancing issues, the only thing I did was really adding it, nothing else.

Yes it is nice, but the issue is that they really don't have any weapons on them by default (with some exceptions), meaning we anyway have to go though the faction list when we want the ai to use airframes

Unless I'm mistaken, that list is all XEH as in Extended Event Handlers. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but CBA is not a requirement for a mod, only a recommendation. So as long as it works, does it matter that it doesn't support what is essentially another mod?

Ahh right. I am already in the process of getting rid of the redundant code it's just taking a while since I'm also working on binarisation at the same time.

This was made for players rather than the AI so this was never a factor. I'm working on a module for the framework to add some functionality for aircraft, I'll look at an aircraft spawn function that loads the aircraft accordingly.

  • AH-1Z Handling Updated based on crew feedback
  • Re-arm functions will now work at the civilian helipad used to mark the service station
  • Code optimisation part 1 complete:
  • All PBOs apart from Weapons now properly binarized which should improve performance a bit
  • All my work now supports CBA XEH
  • A good portion of the redundant code has been trimmed out. Other updates to follow for the more complicated changes. Total HDD space required should be reduced.
